Rachelle-Mari Voges

Chess Educator
South Africa
English and Afrikaans
Woman Candidate Master

With two of her brothers playing chess competitively, Rachelle-Mari practically grew up next to a chessboard. She played in her first official tournament at the age of five years old and fell in love with the power that chess has to teach, both young and old equally, valuable life skills in a dynamic and fun way.

Rachelle-Mari has represented South Africa at several World Youth games, as well as in the Common Wealth games as a junior, and during her studies, she played for the South African University Team. She is an admitted attorney and she also owns her own café, where she serves the most delicious treats. Nevertheless, she makes sure to carve out enough time to share her passion for chess with other girls around the world.

Today, Rachelle-Mari is a Women's Candidate Master and proudly boasts that, even though her two brothers had a head-start, she can now easily beat both of them in a good game of chess! Go Girl Boss!
